The weird thing for me about this approach is how bad they are at it. Nobody, not even diehard CNN watchers, thinks Dana Bash or Wolf Blitzer are anything at all. And while someone might argue that cable news audiences like tedium, the declining ratings suggest it’s a losing strategy.

Because it became a TV show where the main goal is to chase ratings and dollars. If you upset the interviewee, they won’t give you more access. Without access, you can’t fill time with content and use that content chase ratings. So they won’t challenge anyone in a real, straight forward way.

I had so scrubbed Vice from my memory that I originally assumed this headline was referencing a Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby reunion.

Slightly unrelated, but my favorite Alan Parker films are the one-two punch of “Birdy” and “Angel Heart”.
