I was stoked, probably one of my favorite p-cul memories was the anticipation of a new star wars movie, but once the lights dimmed and it went straight to the Lucasfilm banner rather than the old familiar 20th century fox fanfare, it just hung the first pall of many over the new franchise. not that I didn’t enjoy TFA

I have an old Great Muppet Caper glass kicking around somewhere (although that may have been Burger King)

aka The “we found a bunch of old shit at the warehouse we need to clear out” event

Well, you had a good run Mr. Goldblum

ugh,  wes anderson and his 3 good movies?

tbh,  I wouldn’t know about the MCU because every time I’ve tried to watch them, they’ve bored me to fucking sleep.  anyways,  yeah this is fun.  Give Kundun a try,  you do know he makes more than gangster movies eh simpleton?

IIts funny, had you given this answer when I asked "what do you think Goodfellas is about anyway" we wouldn't still be here. But please insist you know what I was talking about from the beginning

yes I responded 4 times but 3 of those were me trying to get you to figure things out on your own. Jesus Christ. The fact that you went straight to goodfellas while ignoring all of the rest of his filmography shows that you probably do revel in blissful ignorance. But now that you’re thinking about movies in how Marty

Good Lord, the desire to remain ignorant is pretty high with you isn’t it? Like Goodfellas doesn’t touch on capitalism in post war America, the role of the women in the Italian American household, hell it can even be a look into popculture trends throughout the decades. Feel free to rewatch Goodfellas with any of

oh shit...Avengers must be pretty frikkin boring then

Probably, caused by boring ass marvel movies

theres also the whole thing about the italian-american experience from the 50s-80s, but lets just ignore all that and focus on crime shall we?  open your fucking eyes

I remember the first time I saw the avengers, asleep 15 mins in....I remember the second time I saw the avengers, asleep 10 mins in. I remember the third time I saw the avengers, got about halfway through and found something better to do. 4th time was the charm. it was ok.

yeah stick to MCU since things clearly go over your head

Good, now go tell the other fanboy hacks

Ive had a few close calls but it never got past the cheeks.  I’ve got pretty brawny glutes and fast reflexes.

sure I can. the thing about the average movie goer is that they think cinema” = heightened emotional response, when thats superficial at best. Tony Stark saying goodbye to his daughter doesn’t make it cinema because you feel sad. there’s no idea about it, its pure emotional manipulation. pure cinema makes you think

plugging your fingers in your ears and going “lalalala” isn’t “disagreeing”

“Scorcese” says more in the first 10 minutes of Gangs of New York than the entirety of the MCU, his use of color in Aviator speaks louder than any CGI shot in the MCU, and most importantly his films are actually about something.  thats what makes them films.  but explosions are cool too I guess.

simplistic...sounds about right. keep aiming mid-height!
