but whatever, it was already whitewashed by that point. I always found red album Beatles boring precisely because it was far less challenging than say an 8 minute sound collage like revolution #9

But it was, it was taking the black music experience, shining it up nice and making it palatable for Mass audiences. Beatles didn't get interesting until they started taking drugs and palling around with Ravi Shankar.

Bt if all it does is challenge you to remember what happened in a prior movie, how is that unprecedented? Hell, how is that even a challenge? The argument comes down to movies vs films, and conflating shitty mcu movies to films because they have an ongoing thread is such a feeble argument. 

And moviegoers mindless devotion to a series of movies is totally by design, it's like crack to people who don't want to think when going to a movie 

They should really stick to reporting on popculture that trying to be it
