And just to clarify I think that changing the name of the con as they did is a smart idea and has solved one of the major issues that prevented them from getting the community they wanted at their previous convention. I hope their con brings in the diverse and respectful crowd they want it to.

I have not claimed inequality here. I have stated that the concept of creating a convention for a specified subset of people is going to cause others to treat the convention as exclusive, though perhaps not maliciously so.

The name indicates that there is a strong focus on gay people. As a straight person raised in a conservative home, I wonder what that will mean for those of us who hold no prejudice toward gay persons but aren't gay ourselves in terms of acceptance.
