The only entity that does art well is the Smithsonian. They’ve got all sorts of different themes, history, and cultures. Granted it’s run by the government who gives them steady funding so I’m sure that has a lot to do with it.

When I was very small, I was fascinated with princesses and being one, but I outgrew that. Maybe because my dad told me I’d never be a princess in real life because I wasn’t of royal blood. (I guess he was thinking of Wallis Simpson rather than Grace Kelly). The Charles-Diana wedding happened the summer after my…
So this was his swan song. Just like so many GOP former reps etc., they speak the truth when it won't infringe upon their career or pocketbook.
“Armenians are white” seems a little simplistic. People from that region of the world (the Middle East bordering southern eastern Europe, or southern eastern Europe bordering the Middle East, depending on whom you ask... but on most world region maps, it’s actually grouped with the Middle East alongside neighboring…
Maybe it's because I'm from New England, but I had no idea plantation weddings were a thing until recently. I also never saw Gone With the Wind or any other movie that romanticized them, so I really do not understand why anyone would want to get married at one?
Peter Thiel is launching a competitor magazine, “Antichrist Today,” for those who are sick of Jesus’ librul biased.
I agree, at least they can put a short sentence or two in the descriptor.
Ya, I thought with the new era of Barf Bag we were done with those. Guess not!
Especially since one of the links is behind a paywall, so I can’t even click through to see *what* is stressing her out.
On one hand, given that all the problems CT cites with Trump have been there since the very beginning, it’s pretty craven of them to wait ‘til he’s already been impeached to say something publicly.
There’s literally dozens of things an actor can be asked about in an interview, without devolving into the navel-gazing exercise of examining your performance in a particular moment. Instead of respecting his clearly expressed and non-confrontational request, Fresh Air decided to push the issue and do it anyway.
It’s…
OR he could promote the movie, talk about his acting, the cast and the story without having people cross the lines he has drawn.
Lol...that’s not the same thing and you know it
OT: It’s Day #2 of Gremlins in the Kinja. Is anyone else still having a hard time with their notifications, as in the link not taking you to your started/replied to posts?
So I love Fresh Air, and they always play clips of a guest’s recent work when they are they are performers. It’s part of the format. But surely, SURELY after what he told them, and since they knew to advise him to remove his headphones, they could have edited the clip in after the interview was recorded? I completely…
He’s not talking about actually performing poorly, he’s talking about being a perfectionist who can’t stand to see a performance he can no longer tweak. It’s fine if another performer doesn’t relate, they’re not all the same person.
I’m not famous, know no one famous but I HAAAAATE when people don’t respect boundaries. It’s infuriating and frustrating to tell someone ‘X makes me uncomfortable’ and have them just dismiss those feelings. Happens to me all the fucking time since my mother ignores all my cues, even outright statements like ‘Can we…
This is not at all the same thing.
I also don’t blame him. They were aware it made him uncomfortable back in 2015 and decided to do it anyway which is kind of a dick move. People have their reasons for creating boundaries for themselves which is frankly none of our business and it comes off as icky when they ignored that boundary.
It’s not being a diva to enforce a boundary that was intentionally ignored.
