It’s stories like these that are most upsetting to me lately, because it seems so motivated by a desire to dehumanize a woman. I’ve been going through something similar and it’s so hard when you realize so many people think something like this isn’t a big deal. All strength to Chloe.

if you want to see how Vance and his office operate, watch Steve Jame’s documentary “Abacus: Small Enough to Jail” about how the only bank he went hard on was a small bank in NYC that was aimed to Chinese-Americans. Vance had bank employees cuffed together and perp walked for the press.

Just want to say, Cynthia Nixon really does ride the subway. I saw her once on the M train going from Brooklyn into the city. Then she transferred where I transfer at West 4th St, and we road the A together. I got off at 14th Street and mumbled “I love your work” to her before I ran away. :D

I like Cynthia Nixon a lot. She’s poised and articulate, and radiates warmth and empathy. She’s damn good at her job, and I love that she seems to constantly want to stretch and challenge herself as an actor.

THIS article made me BOIL with rage. It’s rare that we see quid pro quo implemented so obviously. Cy Vance should be tied to a log and pushed out to sea

Small note- she didnt just guest in Icona Pop’s I Love It, she also wrote the song.

I kind of loved her first two records and I’m not sure I love her newest material the same way....but this description of her reception, and how she’s lifting up other artists, makes me really happy.

When I was in college, Hannibal was booked on campus. The student newspaper, which was award-winning but not approved by university faculty before publication (it was critiqued afterward, in theory to teach them leadership) wrote about how he was “bringing diversity” to campus. It was tone-deaf, and really only said

It is hard to imagine the contempt dissidents, opposition politicians and activists like PR must feel toward us. They publicly spoke out on pain of death for decades, warning us about Putin Crime Inc., but were ignored in the west because it was mostly internal (as far as anyone acknowledged).

Next up: Loyola’s managers invite Tim Minchin for performance, get angry for his content.

Oh, he’s entirely hammy; for me, that’s part of the charm. Also, I was nine years old. I still dotted my i’s with stars and wore butterfly hair clips. Subtle was not a huge part of my vocabulary.

Ugh. REG always hits 11 out of 10 on the hamometer for me.

Absolutely! See Robbie Coltrane in Cracker, or National Treasure. He’s astonishing.

My dad always liked to point out that comedic actors often turned in the best dramatic performances. Maybe it is the fearlessness!

I am so excited for this! Melissa McCarthy is such an interesting actor, and I’ve been in love with Richard E. Grant ever since he played The Scarlet Pimpernel when I was 9. Yay!

I thought her work as the mother in St. Vincent was well done, and was hoping for something more outside of her usual realm. As a comedy performer she can be fearless, this looks like an interesting story; thanks for the head’s up!

Do it! My “non-traditional” students (older and/or returning) are THE BEST!

I LOVE HER. some people may think it’s overly simplistic, but i love her type of physical humor. her hands and body are so animated it kills me. and anytime she hosts SNL they are some of my favorite skits!
