BTW, it’s the U.S.’s fault that much of Central America is dangerous and poor. The CIA destabilized any government that we couldn’t control, and this was entirely on behalf of corporate interests, who build factories down there, abuse workers, pay little in wages, no job protection, nothing.

That’s not how the law works. Anyone is allowed to claim asylum. While their case is being considered, there is no law that requires them to give up their children. This is a sick tactic to stop asylum seekers.
