I was a Witness. I know exactly what you believe and what has been taught. I’m assuming you’re probably quite a bit younger than I am, so you didn’t live through the earlier end times prediction debacles. You also probably did not see the changes in regards to those who were disfellowshipped.

If you have prime, there are quite a few books available for free through prime reading, but there is some rotation, so you can download a book then it disappears. There are even some graphic novels in prime reading. Right now they have the first of the Matt Fraction Hawkeye books in prime reading.

I’ve done that, and it doesn’t work. Multiple times I: told him I wasn’t interested, told him I was living with someone, told him to back off.

That’s a nice dream, but these companies fall into behaviors and they get so used to replacing and moving on that they don’t see what it’s actually costing them.

The thing is, most of those suits never get press. They’re settled quickly and as quietly as possible, then, with all the horrifying news going on, they never even become a blip on the newscycle.

I grew up around some Mormons, then we moved to a small town in Nevada with a huge Mormon population. That’s when I really started learning the real stories, the ones only the jack Mormons will tell. It is serious effed up.

Yes, it’s a cult, but not for most of the reasons you listed. Most Christian, even non-Christian religions, have similar requirements among members.

Ex-JW (parents joined when I was a kid; hated every moment and left as an adult). Definitely a cult. They force you to separate from non-believers. Avoid any non-JW approved entertainment. Attend school as legally required, avoiding all extracurricular activities, and avoid college. Marry only other JWs.
