Yes, they are. Once my mom gets into something, she doesn’t let go. I haven’t spoken to them in over 15 years. One of my sisters is in and the other is out. The one time it really hurt was when my grandmother died and I couldn’t attend the memorial service. Technically, I could have, but I don’t need that BS in my

I figured that. I was hoping he had the cojones to actually respond.

I bought a shockproof case for about $15 on Amazon. Kind of like an off-brand Otterbox, with the hard skeleton covered by a thick, silicone cover.

If you have prime, there are quite a few books available for free through prime reading, but there is some rotation, so you can download a book then it disappears. There are even some graphic novels in prime reading. Right now they have the first of the Matt Fraction Hawkeye books in prime reading.

He’s 40. If he can’t tell she’s not interested, then he’s too dangerous to be out in public.

I’ve done that, and it doesn’t work. Multiple times I: told him I wasn’t interested, told him I was living with someone, told him to back off.

That’s a nice dream, but these companies fall into behaviors and they get so used to replacing and moving on that they don’t see what it’s actually costing them.

The thing is, most of those suits never get press. They’re settled quickly and as quietly as possible, then, with all the horrifying news going on, they never even become a blip on the newscycle.

I grew up around some Mormons, then we moved to a small town in Nevada with a huge Mormon population. That’s when I really started learning the real stories, the ones only the jack Mormons will tell. It is serious effed up.

Why are you posting links from a cult in your comment?

Yes, it’s a cult, but not for most of the reasons you listed. Most Christian, even non-Christian religions, have similar requirements among members.

Ex-JW (parents joined when I was a kid; hated every moment and left as an adult). Definitely a cult. They force you to separate from non-believers. Avoid any non-JW approved entertainment. Attend school as legally required, avoiding all extracurricular activities, and avoid college. Marry only other JWs.

Argh. I’m so sorry.

What happened to the ring???

I had something like that happen to me when I was around 13. I was walking down the hill from the neighbors’ house. We were out in the sticks, mountain foothills, and I hear a man crying, “Help me, please, help me.” He just kept calling. I looked where the voice should be coming from, but couldn’t see anything. Then

I’m lucky in that I can have pretty much anything delivered to my office.

Morgan Freeman divorced his wife to marry his 17-year old stepgranddaughter. That’s pretty high on the Woody Allen creep meter.

I’m on a solitary path, so there’s no organization or coven, so, while the kids sometimes see me practicing at home--if they smell incense they give me space—I have made no attempt to teach them anything. Having gotten out of a Christian cult my parents joined when I was a kid, I don’t want to impress anything on them

I’m old, and a woman, so I’ve had more than a few scary moments. But this one had me the most intensely scared for the longest time:

I was a Girl Scout, and I really wanted my sons to have something similar, but the takeover of BSA by Mormons and extremists ended that dream. I considered having them check out the Spiral Scouts, but, although I’m Pagan, I didn’t want a specific religious view forced on them.
