The visit where my GP referred me to a neurologist, her final comment was “be sure to exercise.” Oh, sure, I’m in pain in every muscle in my body, I’m having trouble breathing, and I have to go upstairs one at a time, but, sure, I’ll jump right on the treadmill.

I was told for 25 years that I had fibromyalgia, despite some symptoms that didn’t fit, and none of the treatments working for me. Finally saw a rheumatologist (I kept getting referred to neurologists, physiatrists and orthopedists, as well as PT) and was diagnosed with vasculitis, which does explain all the symptoms.

I have a large vocabulary; it’s a gift. And I’ve noticed the same thing. Be too knowledgeable and you get the side-eye and condemnation. Be too clueless and you get the same.

I’m so sorry for your mother. I’m very lucky that I have a doctor who’s known me for 13 years, and knows the pain I’ve been through.

I’ve had the opposite problem, most of the time. Male doctors would give me any pain meds I wanted, but female doctors would do the “you can tough it out thing.”

If her mother had kidnapped a baby and then tortured that child for nearly 20 years, and that child finally escaped by killing her, would you say the same thing?

Yes

Because there’s never been a miscarriage of justice in a rape trial, right? Right?

What, she trades sex for better treatment? That’s coercion and it’s still rape. There is no scenario in which a slave can give consent.

You obviously have no idea what is involved in getting a TRO. You have to go to the courthouse, apply, then wait for a hearing, and, if you live long enough to make it to the hearing, you have to show cause for issuance of the order. If you do get the order, it has to be served. Of course, there usually is no law

I like Rusk, but I only use it about once a month. I can’t see why you would need to use it more often, unless you’re using tons of product every day.

That was, just, I, um, well. Jeez. That makes a lot of high school essays look good.

My mother had been a bookkeeper, but she wanted to be a CPA. She kept pushing me into accounting classes, and I absolutely hated them. I knew I would go crazy. I’m not in my dream job, but I’m in a dream-adjacent one, and, while my coworkers may sometimes be nuts, the job itself, and most of my coworkers, are great.

I missed that. Do you have the link?

There are at least a half dozen Teslas in my office parking lot, so I didn’t even notice it. Maybe the fact that they’re electric and it made for a serenely quiet ride up the hill?

I think you should have dumped the opossum remains on your neighbor’s yard. Or at least knocked and handed them to him.

That is why I can’t watch diving any more.

I found your post last week. Yes, she really needs the evaluation, and I agree that she needs a long term placement. You can’t do this on your own. I’m amazed, considering what’s she’s done, that she’s still alive.

THIS SHOULD EXIST!

I was on my phone last week, instead of a computer, so I couldn’t see if you posted. How are you? Did I miss anything?
