The best selling Xbox in Japan was the 360, mostly because Microsoft poured a metric tonne of money into creating a Japanese market for it, including commissioning two exclusive Hironobu Sakaguchi RPGs. It still didn’t sell especially well.

Yet another illustration that game design and aesthetic is more important than raw power or graphic quality.
Not really. Getting into the closed alpha was really easy. I just signed up on the site and got a key. Calling it alpha is a bit of a joke, as the game would have already been in beta by the time the test started. No game is still in alpha three months before ship date.
looking forward to getting this game in 4-5 months when it is 40% off. I just don’t like Ubisoft enough to pay full price for any of their games. I also don’t have much of a connection with PoP except for Sands of Time (could never get past the 2nd level) and the 3 JAVA mobile games (I loved those)
I’m not sure who the Nov group was, but I’m guessing it included people/non-professionals who are likely to be favorable to Rocksteady.
Lots of unfavorable coverage, followed by a delay, followed by more unfavorable coverage, and now “Oh god please talk favorably about our game but absolutely do not let people see our game”.
It was a poor choice to only allow limited number of media and “content creators” to comment in the first place. If you’re going to let people talk about a part of your closed alpha, let people talk about it.
So the unbiased journalists they let demo the game this week didn’t like it, and now they’re hoping to muddy the waters by letting the players they gave access in November post about it. I’m not sure who the Nov group was, but I’m guessing it included people/non-professionals who are likely to be favorable to…
I’m a musician, you fuckwit. But keep ranting. Definitely makes you seem totally normal.
“still full of the DNA that infuses the Batman: Arkham series”
Who is “everybody”? I’ve yet to see or hear ANY hands on when it comes to this game.
“So what, we just some kind of.... Live-service game?"
I’m only giving this game a maybe of a chance instead of outright passing just because it’s Rocksteady.
The bro road trip truly put me off when I saw that was what the game was going to be. But honestly there is something deeply charming about a JRPG party cruising around diners and doing quests. I had some good times with these boys, and it makes the latter acts land better when you have had that.
Uh, when I was taking art classes, I was taught technique, and the subjects I was taught on were life objects. People, places, things.
It is the same way every artist starts.
Origins and Odyssey are amazing RPGs, but bad Assassin’s Creed games. The first time I perched on top of a base and studied the enemy patrols for my ideal take-down route, and dropped down on the first guy.....only to have him take like half damage or whatever, and alert the entire base, I knew this was no longer…
I completely agree with the top 3. But AC3 is ranked far to high.
Odyssey should be 13th, not 3rd. And Origins should be 12th, not 1st.
