You and I have a different definition of “project”. A few seat controls not working and a small brake fluid leak are pretty much par for the course for an old car.

Full disclaimer: the E24 is my favorite car and I’ve owned three of them. That said...

The ad shows $6999 as the price, which makes it an even worse deal.

These cars had RWD, so I’m not sure why you were experiencing understeer.

Rob got the HP number wrong, these cars made 210 HP. Still pretty good for the era.

I remember when E28 M5s and E24 M6s (and M635Csis) were 10-20k cars. I bought my E28 M5 for $7200 in 2006, and it was in decent condition. They’ve really shot up.

The one on BaT was much better presented. On this one, the pictures just aren’t that great. No picture of a fat stack of maintenance records, either.

I looked on BaT. Two E21 323is went for more money than this. One had a stroker engine and Alpina parts, and the other one looked to be in nicer condition than this one. The pictures just aren’t that great. It might be in great condition, but the pictures don’t show it.

No. Both of those cars are 30k+ in decent condition.

Every car anyone has suggested so far, in the comments or the article, will depreciate. Get something that won’t - the E39 M5, the greatest sport sedan ever conceived by man.

Wiki says the ‘77 Corvette had 180 hp, or 210 with the optional L82 engine. So quite a bit more than this car.

It’s a rebadged Ford Sierra. I’m sure parts are still available in the UK. Difficult and annoying to obtain? Maybe. But no time machine required.

1984-85, according to Wikipedia. It was a separate trim level from the GT, called “Turbo GT”. The Escort-derived EXP also was available with the turbo 4 in 1984.

Wait, are you seriously NDing this car because it has some lettering that’s probably vinyl and easy to remove? There are rational reasons to ND this car, like the fact that it’ll probably need new tires and some of the gauges aren’t working. I NPed it, because manual XR4Tis are rare and it’s in pretty good shape, but

I checked BaT. Going back a few years, only one Stealth has sold for more than this. Most of them were in the 15-20k range. I do think this is a future classic, and 3000GT/Stealth/300ZX prices will eventually rise, although not to the level of the Supra Turbo or the FD RX-7. I voted ND.

No one is cross-shopping 928s and C6 Corvettes. You buy one of these because you want a classic GT. If this price disturbs you, air cooled 911 prices will make you flip your wig. (I still voted ND.)

Miles are a bit high, and no mention of the belts and associated items being done. It looks great, and I want to believe it’s been well maintained, but the seller doesn’t go into detail. ND.

Good price for a manual C6. I voted NP, although those wheels are questionable. The pinstriping is dumb, but at least it’s not easily seen in the pictures.

Sold on BaT just over a year ago. Same pictures and everything.

This one actually *was* on BaT.
