I’d add:

I’m gonna be dramatic and claim that Post Malone winning against Billie Eilish is like all of us losing in a war for any kind of soul in our pop culture. Damn it, she’s actually, like, a real person.

TP shortages during the initial months of COVID quarantine forced me to grab the grocery-store brand a couple times. That stuff was truly atrocious. Like, the rice-paper thin stuff you find at a gas station or rest area that feels like it’s just disintegrating in your hand as soon as you press it to your bum.

Any new electrical outlets in a bathroom would be Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupt type outlets. If they get wet they cut off the power before anything truly unfortunate happens.

We just added a bathroom to our house with an outlet behind the toilet. The electrical plans were approved by the city and we passed the walk-through electrical inspection. Our city is notoriously strict with building codes, so if they were okay with it, I’m sure most places are okay with it.

On a closely related note, if you are remodeling your bathroom or building your house, be sure to install an outlet near the floor behind the toilet. All the best bidet accessories need electricity, and bathrooms in the US generally do not have extra outlets.

Imagine a muddy car.  You won’t wipe a muddy car with a towel.  You’ll wash the car, then towel off the droplets.

You’re doing it wrong.

You Americans. Sigh...

or you know, different people have different tastes in other people.  No need to be a gross asshole about it.

Nah, Kotaku commenters are much worse.

As a supreme introvert, it's weird that I was psychologically built for a pandemic change in life. In terms of locking myself in my apartment for the last seven months and not having an expressed need to do something social (especially coming off a toxic live-in relationship the last three years), I've been able to do

I don’t know. Maybe I’m an outlier, but my friends and I did stuff after work all the time in the pre-Covid times. And we’re not fresh out of college 20 somethings, either. We’re solidly in our 30s. I haven’t hung out in coffee shops since I was in high school, when it seemed like the cool, adult thing to do. But as

I was with you until you suggested suicide.  No need for that.

Why the entirely unnecessary misogynistic insult?

There used to be more Starbucks across the street from each other. I heard the business plan was to make it so that you never had to turn left to get to a location.

That isn’t anti-social though... unless the work is not in a collaborative environment. As you noted they are socializing but the format has changed with less face to face but possibly more intimate settings allowing for deeper levels of sharing.

I went to college in the late ‘90s/early ‘00s and hanging out in coffee shops was not something anybody actually did. I have a feeling that there were more people hanging out in coffee shops on tv than there were irl even at that time.

$70 today is alot cheaper than $70 in the mid-90's. the prices of video games have been going down since the 90's but most people can’t tell because our money is worth less now.

profits are also at a record high and paychecks for the individual employees are not reflecting that. its all going to the corporate executives.
