I work for a national bank that makes something like $6B/year in profits, but they had to shell out a measly $400M for all their layoffs, so I was told at my year end review that “wage increases aren’t really in the budget right now”, because fuck my cost of living, it’s the bank who is having a hard time right now. 

It doesn’t matter that profit was $6.7B, it matters what profits were the year prior, because unless it’s an increase, you are terrible in the eyes of Wall St. 

Seriously, my combined household income is $150k and I couldn’t imagine purchasing a brand new depreciating asset. Instead, I purchased a 2014 Accord for $12k (CAD) and will drive it for 10 years, like I did my 2003 Civic before it.

Those numbers are a continuation of Obama, if you can read a chart/graph, you would see that the line is heading in the same direction is has been for years.
