1) This is referring only to heavy duty and commercial, not light duty

So you're saying that *you* see the value in paying good wages. Why don't you see the value in ensuring that others do so as well.

Call a person wearing a confederate flag a Democrat and see how that goes

It may be awhile before it's cost competitive with gasoline for road cars, but I could see this being mandated in motorsports quickly. I think everyone can get behind saving racing

Thats like saying a Bentley has the same power train as a Chevy because they both have engines. The Ultium Platform is basically just a cell layout. The motors, batteries and chemistries can all be different

As someone from the Rust Belt who has seen the devastation of deindustrialization, the IRA has been a good thing. We need manufacturing jobs and they need to be unionized so that they pay well. There has to be good work that allows unskilled laborers to make it into the middle class

Also consider that battery electric semis can weigh 2k lbs extra. So it's a difference of probably 8k lbs, which is still big! But the 2k helps a lot

I wanted to try and stay on Twitter but it's devolved into a right wing hellhole so I just deleted it. Every single news story would promote a far right tweet underneath, usually containing hate speech. Life is short, why put yourself through reading that crap? Just keep away and let Musk lose his money

Worst case scenario is you lose half your range. If you’re in a city and can’t charge at home, you’ll have to make an extra stop if you’re going out of town, otherwise 150 miles isn’t so bad for around town.

I believe it's resistive

My Chevy Bolt will lose half its range if I don't preheat it. If I preheat for a half hour, I only take about a 25% range hit. More than doable on the long range Ford battery. Silverado will have a heat pump though. That'll be the way to go in cold climates

The thermal management system would be running just like your coolant on a gas car. EV cooling is the same as coolant in your engine, it just needs a much smaller radiator

You also have to drive to a gas station once a week. I fill up in my garage. So what if my road trip takes an extra 45 minutes once a year

I own a Bolt and my neighbor owns a Tesla. We are both nerds and get along great!

Based on Musks wording I'm guessing they'll have a stall with CCS and Tesla cables. The infrastructure bill requires a credit card reader so they'll have to use new stalls since Teslas chargers don't currently have those

Mrecedes Benz CLA. I sat in one and couldn't believe how much plastic there was. We are supposed to believe the Germans are divine beings of automotive interiors and they give us the CLA? Frankly the Germans all have more plastic than automotive journalists care to admit

Are you thinking the EUV when you say it sits high? Mine sits about the same as any other car.

So a Chevy Bolt? Because you're describing a Chevy Bolt. Specifically, one with summer tires. I have one and it's got torque for days

Considering the halftime show, it probably wasn't a bad idea. GM probably knew the age demographic who would be watching

And why does gold have any inherent value as a currency?
