If you believe in Tesla's reason to exist, it's to make the transition to electric vehicles and replace gas ones. This will never be more than a niche product so, in that sense, it will fail. With these specs, a semi-normal truck would be an absolute smash hit. They missed a huge opportunity

TFL Truck saw hauling range as 1/3 of advertised range. The long range battery here shouldn't be bad. The 250 and 300 mile battery will be pretty useless though

TFL Truck showed the Model X only had 1/3 of its range when hauling so anyone looking to tow will need the long range battery on this to make it useful

TFL Truck showed that your range is only about 1/3 of stated range when towing, so the 500 mile version shouldn't be too bad but that also means anyone looking to tow will need the expensive version

There are an awful lot of people in NE Ohio saying GM is dead to them because of the Cruze

If you push gas cars hard they get worse range too. It’s easy to run out of gas on a Corvette in less than 100 miles.

I think car companies will change the perception of EVs by touting their performance and that may, in the long run, lead to deeper market penetration. They have to be seen as cool or desirable.

Im not the market but damnit I'd buy this

I once saw a colonial woman churning butter on the wing

The Cruze is way nicer than that. Cobalt, maybe

I hope Workhorse doesn't become the next Elio. My community relies on that plant, we can't watch it die.

If it has 300 miles of range and is sub $40k I'd buy it

They sold $134 million in credits. So even without credits it's still a $9m profit...

in b4 Nascar fans say electrification ruins racing

If GM is dedicated to becoming a foreign manufacturer by closing plants, then I'll be dedicated to buying other brands that are made in the states. I live near Lordstown and was always a GM guy. Now they'll have to compete just like anyone else and God knows they struggle to win sales on quality

If you drive around Youngstown, you’ll notice a disproportionate amount of GM vehicles. One thing GM hasn’t considered as they shed their US workforce is they are also shedding their customer base. Towns with a plant are GM towns and they buy GM cars and trucks. If you eliminate your core buyers, who is left? Most

My Chevy Volt only added about $10 a month to my electric bill. I drive about 1000 miles a month in it

I don’t understand why manufacturers don’t just put fast chargers at every dealership. It would be fast and the charging infrastructure problem would be solved rapidly

They're going to sell at least 17 of them
