I remember the original article was such a big deal when it dropped, but now that it turns out to be wrong, it gets one small blurb with no headline...hm.

Prime member here. Meaning I get 2 day shipping. Problem is, is it “shipped” yesterday. However, Amazon claims it’s in my area and is still out for delivery, yet not delivered. They’ve done this before where it’s somewhat of a mislead tracking update, and my package ends up 1 day late from when promised.
Agree with you there - as corporate, they should respond if they see this type of activity going on (which to be honest in any big business is a challenge because people are afraid of getting the dirt out in the open in these environments).
In my mind, this further proves that it’s at the local and regional management level (not a “corporate initiative” to screw the consumer) that these shady practices are being done.
I think a lot of people are mischaracterizing this program, as it’s fun (and usually easy) to bully Gamestop.
