Mr. MiniBig, where's my coffee?

I’d rather have last week’s Miata with the hardtop for $6500. Sell the hardtop for $2k and its comparable in price to this. Mileage is a bit more but i’d trust that more. Only thing this has is rarity. This looks like its headed to NP while the Miata went ND...

I’m in the same boat as the plastic window on mine tore at the zipper.  Did you go vinyl or worth it to pay a bit more for canvas?  Was it a Robbins?

I feel many people have a certain range for NA Miata prices embedded into their minds based on what historical prices have always been for Miatas. But that’s no longer reality. Three years ago, CP but this is what it is in today’s market. It isn’t a nice price to me, but it is market price and if you are in the market

Yes probably. My thought was that you sacrifice some efficiency for convenience. Instead of getting 300 miles from a dedicated pack, you instead get 250 or whatever, but you have the convenience of ‘refilling’ at a swap station. It’s definitely a tradeoff but isn’t the end goal eliminating range anxiety?

But cells are already arranged into modules that comprise the entire pack. It would be up to the manufacturer to decide the arrangement that best fits their vehicles. So I should have originally said ‘base module size’.

Simply agree on a base pack size, say one the size of a shoebox.  So in your example, the Miata takes 6 of these while the F-150 takes 20.

I’m pretty sure that’s a Gerber dude.

With your comment of it potentially being loads better with a manual, that being said is this twice as fun as an Accord 2.0T with a stick? Because I can probably get a used one of those for roughly half the price of this Acura.

I think full autonomy will eventually happen, but not for a long while. At least not within my lifetime and I am in my early forties. By fully autonomous I’m talking about dropping in an address, hitting a button and letting it take over from point to point without any human interaction.

I’m pretty sure that’s a lambo.

That whole operation looked pretty hard.

If you’re talking about it in general terms, yes. The private sector is driven to lower costs and high capital returns which do not necessarily serve the best interests of the country as a whole.

Invoking the defense production act to help automakers with their chip issues are stupid, agreed. However I suppose Taiwan being in such close proximity to China as well as being disputed territory you can make an argument that if shit hits the fan with China, you do not want to be crippled having a major resource

- Is there a lag in the transmission using the paddle shifters? What are downshifts like, does it rev match?

Dude, this is Ford. More like this:

Not bad, I would probably go for a base Macan for a little more.  That or an Edge ST on the lower end.  Those have awesome space for guys over 6'. Performance is not bad either.

I’m wondering if this affects any Hyundai models with the two companies being tightly connected.

Forget the HF flamethrower, get a predator engine instead and limp this thing back home. David, please do this.  You like Harbor Freight, predator engines are cheap. Do it.
