I believe the question was if the containment vessel needs re-inspection after each detonation. I don’t know exactly how these are designed, but for any other pressure vessel there’s going to be a pressure below which repeated events aren’t going to cause a fatigue problem.

True, but it seems that in this case there was no reason (other than impatience) to not dispose of the material in multiple detonations.

It wouldn’t sell, because the first question from over 80% of US truck buyers is, “Can I get that in a quad cab?” A chassis that’s too compact to accommodate four doors isn’t going to be competitive in the current market.

This one broke at the concrete ring, not at one of the welds. Which probably means the mix wasn’t to spec during the repaving project. I don’t know if there’s any good way to really fix this for the weekend.

That makes logical sense in isolation, but to change a warning device or symbol requires communicating the change to all users and making sure that your users understand the change and don’t crash into your bridge. A significant cause of pedestrian deaths is a driver yielding their right of way to a j-walker, and the driver behind them wondering why this bozo randomly stopped (because there’s no marked crosswalk) and swerving around them at full speed. Depending on the state, the stopped driver may have liability exposure.

This one apartment I lived in, every time I would pop the hood on my car there would be half of a bagel sitting in exactly the same spot. I don’t know where the squirrels were getting all of those bagels, but that was their snacking spot.
