Exactly. The boat is owned by a “charter company” that’s almost certainly an anonymous llc. Usually this is just a tax dodge, but in this case it’s also letting the owner skip out of the dock fees on a boat that would just get seized anyway if he tried to pick it up.

The best case scenario is that a would-be thief is going to maybe keep walking to find a bike without a tag on it. But anyone dumb enough to steal a bike without scanning it for tags is dumb enough to get caught without a tag anyway.
