Creeps like this get by because they generally don’t do anything illegal.

I tried to focus very hard on holding my purse and looking out the window until it was time to get off.

Jack Daniels, a triple cheeseburger, and when I was ready to hurl I ran to a window. Surprising that it could be opened as this was in a hotel - the Circus Circus in Reno (circa 1982). Unfortunate that it was over the entrance.

NASCAR ceased to exist for me when they went to the Car of Tomorrow. Generic frame with a plastic Camry shell thrown over it. That’s not stock car racing.

First time I was scared driving - I was 13, driving the old man’s Ford 3/4 ton with a camper on it, on a family road trip. I hit a bird, square in the driver’s side windshield, at probably 60 or so. Scared the living heck out of me.

Let me preface this by saying my adoptive “father” was an idiot who nearly got me killed quite q few times.
I was 8 or 9, we’ re living in San Francisco, and the old man decides we need to go see his wife’s family in Iowa. This would be circa 1972.
So we jump in his ‘59 Impala, he tossed a sleeping back in the back

Instead of only taxing income, we neec to tax wealth. Exempt the first $25 million, keep the rate at 1% until you get over $100 million, past a billion you pay 5% a year.

The trouble with buying a car like this for a teen is, her parents get very suspicious and start asking questions about me.

I was recently in a newish Jeep (I tink a Compass?). No infotainment screen, no power seats, no keyless start.

I can see where it isn’t practical if you buy.
But if you’re just leasing the kids and get a new set of ‘em every three years....

Buddy of mine used to own a car lot. Pretty lazy guy, I can’t imagine he’d take pics to send to someone far away. Great salesman though, and great at spotting a good buy on a car. He made enough selling cars to buy some rental properties and retire.
So I guess you’re right - he wasn’t in business for that long :)

It’s a 13 year old vehicle. The dealership profit is maybe $400-$500. The salesperson’s commission is what, $50-$75?

Google voice. Get a number on there for free that forwards calls and texts to your cell.
When you’re done with a piece of business, change the number (also free).

Thank you for the correction :)

Prediction: ICE will still be 95% of the market in 2020, and a whole lot of people will pay $35K for anything that says Mercedes on it.

I almost bought one in that color! It was the E350, and I really wanted that V8. But man the color  was stunning.

I own the Mercedes on there, and it is very reliable. 80K miles and under a grand in non-routine repairs. The indy shop I go to swears by the E class, and has many owners with over 200K miles on them. Though they do prefer the  6 cylinder over my 8.

Probably because not enough people have actually driven one. The Boxster is one of the most fun cars I’ve ever driven, it feels like 12 year old me got Porsche to build my ultimate go-kart.

The GTO is nice, a friend owned one. But the handling of the E550 when you hit the sport button - it has the Benz version of magride - is amazing. And the interior is a really, really nice place to be. And all I see in GTOs are 150K+ miles, or low miles and they want $20K.  But on dollar value as a driver’s car, the

Apart from air suspension (which can be deleted) these aren’t bad. You will be buying rear tires every 5K miles though.
