Lolwut? The magazine time for my car 0-60 is 4.7. I floor it pretty often, and there’s no remote chance of putting it in a ditch. Where I live many boulevards have 45 mph limits but the lights for some reason are timed for 60. Fast off from the light means you make the next one.

And yet I did it for 16 years, triple digit speeds at least once a week, and never crashed. So maybe not like me.

Did you miss the part where he wasn’t doing 120+ when pulled over, he said he’d done it at various *other* times.

He was not doing 120+ when pulled over, so we don’t know where he did that.

I see your point, and agree.

A little touchy today? Go figure out what has you so angry, either now or in general, and fix it. Seriously. That is not a normal reaction.

If he’s doing 120+ it means the highway is empty, which his not surprising in most of Arizona. So, lighten up. I’ve done these kinds of speeds on a motorcycle hundreds of times without incident. If the road is empty and there are no on-ramps, the only risk is to yourself.

So the rental company now collects a week’s worth of fees from the drivers while the cars are impounded?

If I'm looking for a solution affordable by the average household, I always think, "how does NASA do this on spaceships?"

Bought a MKIV GTI with 60K miles. Apart from the unending constant repairs (mostly electrical), the car would oversteer in to a spin in a heartbeat on wet pavement. It had an upgraded turbo and exhaust, but this was severe. I put good tires on it, which helped a little, but this thing would snap in to a spin in a

Accidents. As in, during the normal course of operations something unexpected or exceedingly unlikely happened.

How many of those were from stupid pranks? I’d guess the overwhelming majority are accidents.

From industrial accidents? From all kinds of accidents? From idiots pulling pranks?

Well, I’ve dealt with some QA managers....

Frankly the forklift incident should be prosecuted as a crime. That’s gross negligence by the operator and it resulted in a serious permanent injury. That forklift operator should get a year or two in prison for that.

pretty much a necessity when you’re making $12.50 an hour.

That’s a GREAT choice!

The expensive part is the $4K-$5K a year in maintenance. I’m sure there are exceptions (there always are), but that seems to be about the average. For that extra $400 a month, you could just lease something really nice, pocket the money you would have spent on the car, and have no worries.
