No, you can’t, and I’m not saying you can or should. I was bitching about it with you. Complaining about how even physical copies aren’t safe anymore.

Oh.

While I’ve heard of this happening for music, I’ve never heard of it happening for IPs or crossover universes/characters. Otherwise we’d be hearing all the time about games like Soul Calibur and Mortal Kombat and Smash Bros and Marvel vs Capcom going offline. And that’s just games—what about movie and comic and TV

Except soon it won’t really make a difference, because many physical games these days are becoming licenses on a disc and basically useless without an internet connection to validate/patch.

And they didn’t explain why?

Yeah, you uh, skipped over that part of the article, din’cha.

This is one of my big problems with it. Terraforming is such a daunting task. Art isn’t a linear process for me, and I’m not the kind of person who knows exactly what they want or what will look good—I have to “find” the answer through experimentation. The amount of rigor involved with landscaping in Animal Crossing

What, exactly, is a “sontar-have”?

Most people don’t know how little she brings to the game before they recruit her. If confronted with what you assume to be purely additive content, why say no?

This. People talk about ME1 like it’s the greatest game ever but I remember playing it just after riding the high of both KOTORs and walking away completely unimpressed. So many of the companions were just limp noodles without any charm.

I dunno if she really does the move alone. My read on it was that she and he were doing it together. Nothing implies otherwise.

And if you’re linking up in a convoy, you should probably just use a mic anyway.

I’m going to ignore the mechanics of Orbs of Power or whatever (because imo they’re kind of not relevant) and address the philosophical question at the heart of the argument being made here:

Then what do you propose happened?

Gonna put my spinfoil hat on for this one.

I’m curious to see if XBS can become competitive in Japan if they start putting a lot of Japanese games on Game Pass. They have a really golden opportunity here.

Your thought piece already exists, dude(tte). It was linked in the article.

Here’s a thought experiment to the chat whenever this topic comes up. Which of the following is preferable?

I don’t know if I would consider moving between FF titles as really changing gears all that much, creatively speaking. It’s technically correct that he’s “branching out” to another project, but he’s still staying within the same franchise (and the same series of numbered FF titles within that franchise, at that).

Doesn’t surprise me, honestly. Death games are really popular among school-aged kids. Danganronpa is a HUGE hit. Squid Game is a pretty logical extension of that fascination with death games.
