Probably yes, BUT, whenever I watch those “Walking around NYC looking at cars with the Jalopnik dude” I rarely see small cars. Small cars are easier to park and are a smaller investement into something you may not use that often. Here in canukistan you will see lots of micras, fits, yaris, minis, fiats ect.

Was driven around in my cousins Jeep Cherokee trailhawk a few weeks ago. Its probably a great off roader yet it has about the same space as my honda fit. And the cherokee was given to my cousin for his company car and he never offroads nor intends to. Compare the purchase price and fuel costs, ouch.

I’ve done that distance a few times by bike on paved roads and it gives you a better understanding of what a miracle modern transportation is.
Its a rural farming ranching area but definitely not the middle of nowhere. The 49 is actually quite a busy highway. Hopefully he just sprained his ankle and search and rescue wil find him soon.
