The sugarcane growing areas in brazil are nowhere near the amazon. But I am sure that lots of wilderness area was turned into sugarcane fields, just like any agriculture will change natural land .

I once put platinum plugs on a carbureted car. After a couple of weeks it ran terrible. Changed them to regular Champions and it ran great again. I'm guessing a carb engine runs too dirty and fouls the plugs or it doesn't run hot enough. Dunno.

I talked to a SoCal tourist in Nelson, BC while on a ski trip there. He rented a 4wd while there. He admitted that he really wasn't familiar with snow driving. Old pre 90's mercs were NOT luxury cars. They didn't have a super smooth ride, great power or luxury features like power seats ect. They were somewhat dull to drive, yes, maybe that solid feeling.
