Plenty of people have had failed rotary engines, and have kept up on maintenance. It’s a well known fact the rotary is a fragile engine. There is a reason why Mazda extended the RX8 warranty to 8 years/160K KM’s - Engines were dying on a large scale at the time. Search for the thread “new engine club” on RX8club.com.

Last I checked, RX8 OEM Cat sells at the dealership for about $1700 CND, or around $1300 US.

Start to go after 100K miles? LOL! More like 20K miles. It’s recommended you change them after 30K, along with the plugs.
