Not generally at a restaurant. They generally take your order, bring your food, allow you to eat, then at the end of the meal they drop your check at the table, you put your card on top of that, then the wait person takes the bill and your card to a computer to run it. Unlike what I experienced in England where they

This is acceptable.

I’ve been using a roasted garlic aioli for that purpose and it’s SOGOOD!!

My issue isn’t that mayo is crap. When it’s part of something and in the right amount, it’s fine and adds value. But I’m not gonna eat a spoonful of the stuff and I imagine that’s what mayo ice cream would be like.

Perfect show is perfect.

Sometimes in these dark times we do receive good things.

Also, I learned that there are a whole slew of folks that legitimately feel that they’ve gotten to where they are in life without any help at all. They don’t see how a teacher given them a bit of extra attention has helped. They don’t see how a free stove has helped. They don’t see how someone mentoring them at their

NOOOOOOOO! I want my mascara. Clinique Naturally Glossy in Jet Brown for LIFE, please!

I LOVE his podcast for this very reason. I feel like it peels away the celebrity from people even more than WTF or other podcasts and you’re left just listening to really interesting people with insecurities and problems have good conversations. I just love it.

I’ve totally baked a cake on my friend’s birthday that lived across the country. It was the cake of solidarity!

They seem to feel that feminism means blind support of all women. Nope. I don’t have to support you if you’re an asshole that’s actively working against making sure women have access to health care, fair wages, and no sexual harassment in the workplace.

This is what I find the most infuriating about where we are, currently, as a people. We have people that believe the facts and research and understand that we may be wrong about a topic and will say “Oh, I had no idea. I’ll adjust my worldview now based on what I’ve just read and is verifiable and undeniable.”

I’ll watch the shit out of it.

I mean, I understand I’m not living in NYC and wages are higher there due to the cost of living and it’s still brutal to live there, blah blah blah....But it was sort of depressing to realize I’m making less as a full time employee of many years than a twenty something intern.

It would never even occur to me to stalk someone’s Spotify playlists/history and then attempt to decipher/analyse the deeper meaning behind their choices. What is even the fuck wrong with people?!?!

Exactly.

Exactly. At one point I even told a friend of mine that was also listening “This feels gross and exploitative. I feel gross listening.” I kept listening, though, for the original promise to eventually be kept.

Exactly! I don’t participate in gossip therefore I usually don’t hear any gossip. It’s usually much, much later (if ever) that I hear gossip about my small office. There are people in the world that just do not gossip.

I love how everyone assumes that everyone is “in the know” about things. I work in a very small office but I don’t, generally speaking, partake in gossip and everyone knows that so I don’t usually hear about things that are going on until years, if ever, after the fact. I’d hate to think that would make me somehow

I’ll be 46 in just a few weeks and I’m childless by choice. I’ve only had a few people tell me I’d regret that decision and those people weren’t anyone that is in my life. Your friend absolutely needs better friends!
