Although Seinfeld is rather bland himself. His comedy is not very funny. And it’s not because it’s risky or pushing any boundaries.

I am typically in agreement with a lot of your thoughts but for this I think he is wrong. I don’t think political correctness is killing comedy. I think middling or bad comedians who used insensitive shocking race jokes or a mysoginistic act as crutches feel this way. As for Seinfeld, I’m not inclined to not give him

I agree with Seinfeld and I don’t. None of of my favorite comedians or comedies could be considered totally P.C., and I think it’s very hard to be truly funny when you’re unwilling to take risks that might shock or offend someone. And I also agree that there’s a certain type of thinking that responds to politically

Yep. This site eviscerated these poor people. Fucking disgusting.

I know, it’s shocking, lol.

The Jez commentariat being unnecessarily bitchy and judgmental? I just can’t imagine that.

His wife is a cutie (not that he isn’t)! I can see why he is crying! “She’s going to be MY wife!”

I admittedly didn’t check out the original post on reddit, because I’m not into reddit.

And yeah I saw that here too but I don’t think I actually got a chance to comment (I can’t recall, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t) because the top comment on the post at the time was fat shaming bullshit and it pissed me off too much

I think it’s just scrunched up like that because she’s sitting - sitting in corsets can be a little awkward. That doesn’t make it any less painful looking, but it probably looks super good when she’s standing.

(Also thank you for not fat shaming or body shaming - the comments on the original article about the dress

A star for you for that!

They’re just chasing those Imaginary Internet Points. Upvotes. Likes. Follows. And so on. People gotta have dreams!

Reddit is pretty much a gaping asshole.

D’awww. This is super cute.

And whoever posted it to reddit with such a misleading caption is an asshole.

It’s okay for there to be jokes in your sci-fi. Not everything has to be about grimdark distopias, the end of the world, or pretentious manga adaptions which think they’re making some kind of point by having Tom Cruise die fifty times. It’s okay for sci fi to actually put an emphasis on character and fun for a change.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I found that with Ancillary Justice, she was able to explore the themes of individuality and identity, gender norms, colonialism, political machinations and wrapped it up in a ripping space opera. So it was nutritious and tasty. A lot of writers can do educational, but it comes off as

As TrishB said; the Hugos are what the puppies are after, although I’m sure this has displeased them mightily. The Hugos are fan awards, and will be announced at WorldCon at the end of the summer. The Nebulas are awarded by Sf & Fantasy Writers of America, so it’s more of an award by peers.

So the whole sad puppies thing ended up being a damp squib? Faith in humanity quasi-restored.

All of my rpg names are awful on purpose. I’m 36. I STILL laugh like a kid when a character adresses me as Dispeptic Diggler or Stinky WizzleTeats.

The placing of dirty words into video game text fields has had a long and storied history over my life, from back in the 90’s where I would proudly give the intials ASS to my top score at the arcade, to the modern times of naming my Quinari mage in DA:I Mr. Motherfucker (certainly no paragon was Mr. Motherfucker) . As
