Tomi is not attacking anyone, or any group though... Tomi feels like “white people” (not “all white people”) do this stuff, it’s well within their right to feel that way.

Tomi’s feelings of being aggressed and microaggressed (truly) constantly is not hate speech.

Regardless being bullied doesn’t give anyone an excuse to verbally assault a complete stranger.

I would never berate a person for their feelings. I will never, however, shy away from challenging people over their words and actions.

I completely agree... it’s just helpful to avoid shouting things that seem to overtly undermine your own goals. Tomi’s comment above wouldn’t be especially out of place on a KKK internal memo (just change black for white and vice versa). It fits the definition of prejudice and hate speech alarmingly well.

Don’t get me

It’s reasonable to say that some disturbingly large amount of what you are describing actually does happen today in America... it’s absolutely not reasonable to say any of that about “all white people”. That is prejudice. That is hate speech.

That isn’t really the message you want to impart, is it?

It’s extraordinary how many comments here are acting as though no one is paying attention to racism in America.

We can have more than one totally valid and emotionally mature feeling about this situation. To condemn the use of physical violence in response to rhetoric (however vile) is not actually to affirm the specific rhetoric.

The jurors sent the judge a note asking if they could make a statement when they delivered the verdict, but the judge said no and advised them that they were free to discuss the case after the trial.

This cop deemed Jordan Edwards and the people in their car guilty and shot at them.

I think it’s a natural thing to come out of fighting games where a considerable amount of attention is given to realistically reproducing human biology (more generally). I think this goes all the way back to early fighting games where they were doing really interesting things (for the time) with 2D sprites.

I think

I mean... come on. Accidents happen in the best of cases. Even when we are all eventually driven around by computers that are exponentially better* drivers than any human could possibly be it will still matter very much how safe your car is.

Just... listen to yourself... it’s as though someone came on the internet and

Or... you can, and should, do both.

That seems to assume that only the people violating laws and rules of safety are the victims of automobile accidents. That is obviously false. No matter how good you are as a driver and how closely you follow laws and rules of safety you are still at the mercy of every other driver on the road. You should probably

For people with no ability to get a loan and less than a few thousand dollars to spend...

You’re “fine” until one of a thousand little things entirely outside your direct control cause you to be involved in a serious accident.

Do you have any evidence that there has been a decline in driver education standards? I’ve actually been looking for good stats. The automobile mortality rate (deaths per population) have been in steady decline since the 60's. It’s hard to say what the root cause of this is... if we have poorer drivers, as you seem to

isn’t “safe” mainly in hands of the drivers?

Police in this country swear an oath to protect and serve all citizens, even at the expense of their own life.

The moment the technology exists that makes it remotely a viable option. That technology doesn’t exist yet. There are a few less-than-lethal options at the disposal of police officers but they all have significant drawbacks that put officers (and other civilians) in particular danger in a variety of common scenarios.

As
