I purchased a 2017 Jaguar XE 35t R-Sport in May, 2020. It only had 26k miles on it. I’ve more than doubled the miles and it has only been to the shop once for an oxygen sensor, covered under warranty. Outside of that it’s been on an annual maintenance schedule. It’s been a great vehicle. My wife’s certified 2019 Volvo

Well this is where I’ll put my Jaguar defense I guess. I’m on my second new one and they’re fine. I bought a new XF in 2012 and it was perfect, until 5 minutes after the warranty expired and the water pump failed, which is the one thing that always went wrong on those otherwise awesome N.A. 8 cylinder engines. Cheap

Best of luck but two months is a very small sample size to crown a car as reliable. 

The Northstar 100% did far more to sink Cadillac’s reputation rather than the Catera. Although, from the 70's and 80's, V8-6-4, Olds Diesels, and early 4100s were all pretty bad.

I just bought a 2016 Jaguar XF two months ago. It had 55k on it. I watched so many videos and read up so much to see how bad it would be when it starts to do “jag shit”.. it seems that at least since 2013 Jags havent been much worse on yearly maintenance cost than BMW or Audi. That is some GOOD advice on those posts.  It is a horrible time to lease.

I returned a rental car in Germany in a thing like this- they gave you a report when leaving and returning, if green you were good to go without question

So if we consider the ‘average’ car of 2023 to be a FWD based 5-seater CUV with an MSRP of $30-$35K (base + a few options) with an available Hybrid variant and styling that is neither too bland or too aggro, I think the Ford Escape fits the bill.

To me it has to be the new Jaguars. I never paid them much attention until i bought a 2016 XF. This car is like full stealth, it is invisible in traffic. It looks like every other sedan on the road. Is it a Taurus, is it a Maxima, is it a 5series, an A6.. the thing is they dont sell many of them so no one even knows
