Tim is a genius—or he certainly was in his most creative years.

Gen 2 is where the fun died.

Looks like an X90 without a soft top

Gen 4 is where the fun died. Gen 1 was a lot of fun. 2nd gen was a little more serious, but the same basic formula. Gen 3 was pretty lame in most respects but it had a monster engine option for its size. Gen 4 was snoozefest city. At least gen 5 has some cool options. 300 HP PHEV? that’s pretty rad.

Kinda crazy to think that the RAV4 was once a fun vehicle

“On the list”? I’m not familiar with that sensation. Does that mean you didn’t get yours right away?  You’re such a plebian.

I had a weird experience in college sort of like that. I interviewed for Electric Boat and got a verbal job offer. I ran home excited and called my dad... who told me to tune into CNN. On the bottom of the screen was a ticker about how the Seawolf submarine program had been stopped and put on hold.

glad they didnt hire me. that was only about a year and a half ago i applied. they only wanted to pay 22/hr in austin. thats not enough for a tech company. even one where all youre doing it sitting in a car watching it drive itself. glass door or some site like that had a lot of ex employee feedback about quitting

I feel like this is targeted at my “wrong side of their 30's” demographic and I’ve never heard of this brand until now. I also don’t know why I’d want a mutant Grimace with 4 eyes.

My wife and I drove out to do the Octane Academy after she bought her FiST. They got to drive that and the Focus, and most of the people there had Focuses, but a bunch readily admitted the Fiesta was more fun, and the instructors all indicated they preferred it.

I follow street wear brands and I’ve never heard of it either. Must be a regional brand that’s trying to go national.

That Wagoneer got caught in PDI. But if you saw it out on the road that means Rivian sell theirs crooked.

A pale green Fiesta was the first car I drove at the Team O’Neil Rally School. Fun little car, with no headliner, a roll cage, and racing seats. With headliner and OEM seats, I doubt I would have fit in the car.

Remember the scene in Mad Men when Don listens to “Tomorrow Never Knows” for a minute before unceremoniously turning off the record player, symbolizing his inability to grasp a changing culture and, moreover, his unwillingness to engage with it? It appears that McDonald’s collabs are doing that for older Millennials

I drove the Fiesta ST at Ford Octane Academy, my god it was fun. A tremendous little fun car for under 20k. I fear that we may never see anything like it again. That new Yaris GR is like 40 fucking grand

Never heard of it and I’m wondering the same.

Cheap cars are a thing of the past. Now your only option is to buy used. Hyundai Kia and Nissan provide the only cars under $20k these days.

It was a long time ago but IIRC his rate was $0.26 per mile over the 36k - his best option was just to buy out the lease rather than pay $15k+ and not get to keep the car

It truly is the end of an era isn’t it?

Ha, and I remember a lot of people saying this was stupid. I don’t want one...I don’t need more cheap plastic crap in my life. However, I suspected there were a lot of people who would want one...
