As I mentioned in another comment, I didn't even realize there was a video because Youtube is blocked by my work. I see the Kotaku banner, the article name, and the body text with nothing in between. Usually there's a reference to a video in the text, but not here. Anyway I will take your word for it.

As I mentioned in the other comment, I didn't even realize there was a video because Youtube is blocked by my work. The screenshots look nice and that's all the reference I had.

Ah okay, Youtube is blocked at my work so I only see text.

Some sort of shake-up to the central mechanic would be nice. Take the Ratchet and Clank games - the first four games were all basically the exact same thing, fairly linear platforming with some mild shooter elements, and then suddenly the fifth game (A Crack In Time) introduced a Mass Effect-esque open world space

If those screenshots are even remotely reflective of the actual game*, then it actually appears to have some decent production value; this makes it an even more baffling choice to blatantly infringe like this, which will undoubtedly result in the game being scrubbed from Play. They could have easily modeled a

$15-25 is still a hell of a lot more expensive than an American fast food burger, which runs $1-5 depending on size and ingredients.

Sounds like you know a lot more about this than I do. So the PS4 is actually closer to a Windows PC (and the original Xbox) than the 360?

Definitely agree on the latter point, but my issues with the controller, load times, and western game performance mean that my PS3 is basically a media player when there isn't a killer exclusive to play. The differences are extremely small, but since I already own both consoles, I pick the 360 version every time.

"So I'll give Cooper credit for managing to make himself look like a competent actor despite having the most punchable face in movies today."

Hurray, a chance for Brent Spiner to try on one of his ridiculously over-the-top goofy accents.

Whoops, I misread that they were retaining the archaic architecture. Further research shows that's not true! Cool, so it's basically the exact same framework as Xbox has been using for 12 years. That's interesting. Should make ports a breeze.

To be fair, Dead Space 3 was a huuuuge letdown, so I'm not sure if it's a good representative. But you are right that you can almost always get a bargain any time other than launch day.

Depends on the game; FF6 was like 50-60 hours long. Very few games these days, save monstrosities like Skyrim/Amalur, can approach those kind of playtimes.

The main thing MS has, and the reason I play games on my 360 about 10x as much as my PS3 (the latter which has become a Netflix box), is a better controller (big enough to fit my giant hands, removable battery pack, concave instead of convex triggers), the ability to full-install to my HD for better load times, and a

I feel like (yvan eht nioj) you're trying to (yvan eht nioj) talk me into something (yvan eht nioj).

Hey, I just said "everything else in the Nintendo stable pushes the envelope with each iteration!" I mean Mario too. I own every single game you just referenced, and the Mario & Luigi series are among my favorite video games ever.

Bwahaha. Well done.

Bwahaha. Excellent comeback.

*nods* Yeah, it sounds like a pretty aces game. But honestly all my hangups about the stupid (imo) hardware decisions will not even remotely matter when the next Zelda/Metroid game comes out. I will be buying one like instantly. Because in the end, the games are all that matter.

You're right, I haven't played it. But I'll still argue there is very little mechanical difference between craning my head to look between my TV and the screen in my lap, vs. simply pressing a button to pull up that inventory in front of my eyes; even leaving the action realtime in the background, just like Dead
