I only care about this because both Darksiders games were awesome. I'm just hoping if they shutter that the franchise ends up in good hands; as opposed to Amalur which, despite selling 1.5 million copies and being generally really awesome, is almost certainly permadead due to toxic brand association with 38 Studios.

*SPOILERS FOR BOTH 1 & 2 *
Maybe you're right, it just seems like every message board and comment thread mentioning Bioshock 2 erupts into a torrent of hatred and dislike. Normally this would at least be a back-and-forth, but in 2's case I normally see universal dislike. This thread I created has contained about 90% of the praise for Bioshock 2…
I passed over all those plasmids as that wasn't the playstyle I typically go for, but hearing that it's OP makes me want to ratchet up to a Hard/Evil drill-spec playthrough next time.
*MORE SPOILERS* That was the one big surprise in the plot, and I really really liked it. She's so much more powerful than the player that it reverses the symbiotic dynamic of daddy-protects-sisters from the rest of the game; I felt protected and safe when she was with me, and nervous when I was low on Eve hypos to…
Actually, that brings to mind a third gripe - during the "tower defense" Adam-gathering assaults, enemies literally spawned anywhere you were not looking, making setting up a perimeter of traps somewhat pointless when a dude can literally spawn on your 6. I wouldn't have cared about this as much if not for the "don't…
I finally got around to finishing up Bioshock 2 this weekend. I had avoided it for a while due to the consensus from the gaming community that it was terrible. It wasn't at all terrible, I dug it almost as much at the first. I'm now kind of perplexed at the level of hatred it got from the gaming community. I could…
I think his point was that it packed a ton of impact into those 20 seconds, vs the eleventy billion hours of dialogue and cutscenes in MGS games. I like MGS games, but boy are they bombastic.
Yep, you've just described every western RPG, and essentially every MMO since WoW. It's a very formulaic genre, but it's easily my favorite, as it keeps the "explore stuff!" part of my brain happy, while leaving the rest of it free for other things. I can have TV on in the background and actually sort of semi-watch.…

Agreed completely, I see DA as the spiritual successor to BG, much like System Shock > BioShock. I've been having fun reliving the glory days on iPad, but DA is just so much more playable. I hate to commit heresy, but I actually think it's the better game. Maybe not as sprawling and influential as BG, but a much more…
Look on the bright side, his ravaged liver provided precisely the haggard look needed for the last few HP movies. He really just did the makeup folks a favor.
I appreciate the irony of reading about G4's extended closure process on Kotaku, as the latter's existence (and its ilk) are the reason that there's not really any point to TV anymore.
Re-read; Colbert isn't the troll, the massive push to get him appointed as senator is, because we're well aware it will never actually happen.
It's fun to float Colbert's name for anything and everything, as his fans descend as legion upon any crowdsourced naming opportunities, be it bridges, space equipment, or presidential primaries. But sometimes I get the vibe the square media (local news anchors, et al) doesn't quite see that it's a large-scale troll.…
Also, your country has largely marginalized any sort of nationalist, xenophobic, intensely patriotic element. In America that's half of our political landscape.
