Sin taxes are consumption taxes and, by their very nature, are regressive.  This means they affect the poor more.

I don’t really think it is. The corner stone of popular sitcoms is laughing at the characters and their actions. This is just the first time the poster connected to the main characters enough to realized they were laughing at it. TBBT is no different than Friends or Seinfeld from that aspect.

Well they also played off the hyper sexuality and promiscuity as a joke and people wanting to have sex but failing.

Because being on the spectrum should not be a person’s defining characteristic. I went to college with some who was slightly deeper into the spectrum than Sheldon (though at the time we/I didn’t know about autism/Asperger’s/the spectrum) but that’s not what defined him, he was a wicked smart electrical engineer (who

I really disagree with this categorization as something that is TBBT specific. This is the situation in all sitcoms, you are laughing at the characters and the situation they have ended up in. I don’t really watch sitcoms very often but in the big classics (Friends and Seinfield) you are laughing at the characters

yup, weirdly.

I have been making an effort to replace “guys” with “folks” though I’m probably only 70% successful. Progress not perfection.

I wouldn’t go quite as far as they did but I don’t think they are that off base.

The hatred for the show has always felt like a mix of toxic fandom and people not liking what they see in the mirror.

Federal Flood Insurance keeps rebuilding properties (sometimes every other year) on the gulf/Atlantic coast so until we stop that I think the once in a decade wildfire destruction are a smaller issue.

yeah they didnt address that

I read this study last night and while their work they did was good, it in no way refutes the societal collapse theory. Highly organized and interconnected societies are more prone to collapse and the fact that in the lat 1600's all of their tools were coming from a single source does not mean they didnt suffer an

Your examples are so ridiculous I’m not even going to bother refuting each of them but I would recommend you educate yourself on the topic before you help the continued push towards an authoritarian regime.

That treaty only applies to nukes, not conventional weapons.
