I’m sorry but you are incorrect from a legal standpoint. As others have pointed out, in both the USA and China the truck drivers are partially at fault (and in the case of the blue truck 100%). The truck drivers were either going to fast or not paying attention.

and yet 100% wrong.

This right here. It amazes me how many people don’t realize this. I got rear-ended a few years ago because someone pulled out in front of me and I stopped but the person behind the person behind me did not.

There is no reason (other than equipment failure) that the blue truck should have jackknifed if they were going a safe speed and paying attention.

Thats fair, just as likely messing with their phone.

Yes. Your speed should be based on your visibility and the time it takes for your vehicle to stop in the current road conditions.

People with your mentality scare me and cause the majority of accidents. Speed limits (in the USA) are a max under ideal conditions and “safe and prudent” speed is always the name of the game.

There is no reason (other than equipment failure) that the blue truck should have jackknifed if they were going a safe speed and paying attention.

Exactly; either the truck had problems or the road was slick. In either case the driver was going too fast. In the drivers defese, he or she had no way of know what the white car was doing as the person was clearly an idiot.

I specifically said the car driver is an idiot and is clearly at fault however, there is no reason (other than equipment failure) that the blue truck should have jackknifed if they were going a safe speed and paying attention.

minimum speeds are assuming perfect conditions (in the USA).

How do you explain he blue truck then?

Yeah the first truck had to deal with a lane change so thats fair. There is no reason (other than equipment failure) that the blue truck should have jackknifed if they were going a safe speed and paying attention.
