I haven’t watched Firefly in a good long while, but at least as far as I remember Mal was always clearly being a jealous asshole when he slut-shamed Inara. Mal was a man of many flaws, and that was primary among them

Oh you owe it to yourself to watch the original. The hair, the clothes, the terrible acting. You just can’t put a price on that entertainment value.

Not only do I remember that version of V, I was totally hooked on the original version with Mark Singer, Jane Badler and Faye Grant. The original is so bad it’s right up there with original Battlestar Galactica bad. We were so starved for scifi on tv in the 70s and 80s, we’d watch anything. Plus we’d all grown up…
