I didn’t say it was ironic. The quote was to imply hypocrisy, which it absolutely is. Telling people to keep ideas to themselves is as self-contradictory as “Never say ‘never’” or “Only a Sith deals in absolutes”.

Ada Lovelace deserves more credit than she gets, but this is the wrong place to take issue with that. She worked with Babbage on the Analytical Engine. Do you know of any modern computer that works like the Analytical Engine? Any one, at all?

I agree, and I’m glad that Microsoft is giving this focus. It needs attention, and it’s pretty crazy that something so important has been overlooked so broadly.

I imagine You. Yes, you. reported my some, if not all, of my comments. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, as they say. I don’t have a ton of faith in the Kinja staff to ever do the right thing (always concerned with making less noise, not fostering good discussion), so I always saw a ban as an inevitability.
