Well, to be fair, apparently he only repaid it through other scheduled payments to the lawyer, so he didn’t really know he was repaying it. I assume Cohen has adapted that strategy of repayment specifically because of Trump’s fiduciary reputation.

I don’t like jokes like that either. But I completely understand why other people would (and, as a corollary, I understand why people would not). I’ve yet to defend the practice, despite people in this thread making that assumption.
