It is the state deciding. But it’s not the state making the changes. Whether “Motherfucker” gets changed to “Monkey-fighter” or “Mumbo fumbo” is left up to the private entity.

But, you see, it wouldn’t be a quibble if people argued the actual issue, rather than arguing what is and isn’t censorship.

A little conflation, there. Movies are edited due to the FCC, yes, but they are not edited by the FCC. They are edited by private entities in order to comply with the FCC. Therefore the censorship is actually being done by the private entity.

That was my second thought, too. The first was “Damn, this is sad, and it shouldn’t be this way.” But the second was definitely, “Oh, wait...why the fuck would any POC sign up to intern in THIS White House?!”

Censorship is what happens when the state an authority restricts your freedom of speech because of the content of that speech, you ding dong.

Agreed. There is no more useful skill, in a platformer, than having a greater degree of control over your jumps. See also: Mario’s tails/capes, Aladdin’s sheets, Dixie Kong’s ponytail, etc...

I’m with you. Games should be shipped complete. It’s why I very rarely get games when they’re new, and wait for the “Game of the Year”, or whatever, edition.
