This is just another sad story of cops trying to profit off of innocent drivers that are fully-capable of jumping their cars and should not be hassled by “the man”. The fact that he crashed has nothing to do with this. Everyone makes mistakes.

I’ve witnessed something similar.

If you don’t create spaces for people to legally jump their cars, they will illegally jump them on the street.

I would say I have an addiction to the internet, but it’s not like I’m on Deadspin in the middle of the work day reading and commenting on stupid shit while missing pretty important deadlines.

It would actually be less than that I think... factoring in that if you were hourly, once you crested 40 hours, you would be making 1.5x the rate (can’t recall if that is a law or just a super common policy). Stuff like unregulated crunch, low pay (when factoring in the amount of hours worked), etc. are common reasons…
