Most kids who watch cartoons, my daughter included, think of John Stewart from Justice League as their Green Lantern. If DC/Warner Bros. wants to get people excited about GL they need to acknowledge that the non comic book reading audience want an African American Green Lantern.

I just realized Vader’s palace is like a dark version of the Temple of the Whills on Jedha. Interesting...

@Bryan Menegus, you bring up some valid points. It seemed unclear to me just how long the Rebellion has been going on. I think the whole point of the movie, the sacrifice of the Rogue 1 team, was to bring everyone together and really unite the Alliance against the Empire, like Gallipoli in WWI.

That tentacle monster looks a lot like this guy, Who appeared to the Defenders as this other guy, Nebulon. I love 70's Marvel cosmic slop.

Hello! Any chance you will revisit Planetary? I love the book and what you did with it will stand forever but I feel like there is more to explore and I don’t want anyone but you to write it.

I think that comics artist/writer Jim Starlin had a Sodastream related accident over the weekend. I may have to look this up to verify.

Katherine, thank you for posting this. I kind of love you for it. Personally, I’m diving deeper into fantasy and sci-fi as a coping device. Our country has put plenty of assholes in the Whitehouse. Trump isn’t special. We’ll survive him. The way I look at it, we got four years to find the best candidate to run against

Great discussion. I for one really enjoyed the show but was a little let down by the ending. I am huge fan of Luke Cage/Power Man in the comics and I felt that the show took the best aspects of a blaxploitation character and made him more “real”. I loved Misty Knight, that actress was great. Misty was never a love

RICK REMENDER.

His work on Legion of Superheroes is how he made his name. I was a little disappointed when he only did the covers and the interior was by someone else. His covers for Marvels X-Men Classic reprints were great too.

I was really into the ‘87 team. I thought Steve Lightle was making some of the best art in comics and DC was kicking out the jams back then. After Legends we got Suicide Squad from Ostrander, Yale, and McDonnell and JLA/JLI from Giffen, DeMatteis, and Maguire. In my mind, I put Kupperberg and Lightle Doom Patrol in

Gerry Conway who scripted the first appearance of Man-Thing was friends with Len Wein who wrote the first Swamp Thing. Rumor is that Wein had written a Man-Thing story for Marvel as a follow up to Conways but it would be a year before it was printed. It’s possible he shopped that story around until it landed at DC and

I believe that Arnold Drake had at one tme or another written for both The X-Men and The Doom Patrol. There was a lot of bed hopping between Marvel and DC in those days.

Great piece of writing sir. I was too young when I saw this episode the first time. I had no idea why Spock was being a weirdo. It wouldn’t become apparent to me until I saw it again as an adult and what a hoot that was.

I kind of like the idea of a West World meets Fantasy Island mash up.

My aunt and uncle took me to see this movie when I was a kid. I loved it so much I went back to see it again on my own. Does it still hold up? Not really, but the movie stands as a marker of a specific time and place in my life.

John Byrne’s run on Fantastic Four. Only surpassed by Stan & Jack. Equaled maybe by Waid & Wieringo.

The critics are getting Superhero Fatigue, and I can understand that but I think that the moviegoers will still flock to see these movies for while yet. The best superhero movies are the ones that work well in other genres like Cap 2 & 3 as political thrillers, GoTG as a space opera, and Ant-Man as a heist movie. I

I was hesitant to watch at first. It seemed too cute. All the 80's influences are up front in the promos and io9 even posted a side by side video comparison of the show and the sources of inspiration. Having grown up in the 80's, as I am well into my forties I had thought that part of my life was well behind me. I was

But wasn’t Starhawk made up of Stakar(male) and Aleta(female)? Not saying it couldn’t be what James Gunn is doing but the Ayesha/Her thing gets me excited for an Adam Warlock/Him connection.
