“First the BernieBros came for women voters”...etc etc.

Hey, Denton, how about you don’t tell other people who you’ve never met what their *true* interests are. Since there’s no fucking way you know. And this comment is patronizing at best.

This new tendency among the BernieBros to be like “minorities are ruining progressivism for us” is the logical extension of their “women are ruining progressivism for us” condescending bullshit mansplaining philosophy.

It’s really sad how little involvement or awareness most people have of their local politics when it’s the local politics that will affect their lives the most. I partially blame the demise of local periodicals. We know more about national news than about what’s going on in our own city halls, because we’re basically

As a white lady, you have my condolences for having to put with this offensive nonsense. It’s racist, patronizing bullshit. Ugh.

Who the hell are you to determine what Effyew’s interests are?

This “authenticity” trend frightens me. The absolute last thing in the world that the Democratic party or the nation needs is a Tea Party-esque purity movement for center-left voters and politicians. We’re supposed to be the ones who *aren’t* crazy.

This is how I feel about the young, white, male Bernie Bros too. If Trump becomes president, *they* are still fine. They aren’t threatened by TRAP laws, etc. I am desperately afraid of losing my access to women’s health care.

I’m white. Just so you know, I love Hillary. Have reviewed her record in context. And even if I hated her, I’d recognize you can make up your own damn mind about who to support. And I hate that *some* (vocal) people don’t think you can.

Wow. A white person telling a black person that they know what’s in black peoples best interests better than black people do. That never goes wrong.

Annnnnd right here we have a great example of why Bernie Sanders isn’t doing well with minorities, and why his supporters are reviled.

and local politics are arguably MORE important and impactful to our everyday lives!

NO! You don’t understand - a mustachioed 33 year old white barrista with an B.A. from a mid-tier Liberal Arts school whose parents pay his Park Slope rent while he “reviews” movies in his Facebook status is EXACTLY who should be telling African Americans, Latinos, women etc what they should be doing and what is best

I agree. The patronizing tone in the article and some of the comments against people of color as a voting group is revolting. No doubt that after they’ve spoken out against POC support for Clinton, they’ll pat themselves on the back for setting us straight.

Wrong. I know the mayor of my town. Not wealthy at all. I also know a couple of city council members.

WE KNOW! ALL OF THEM ARE OWNED BY GOLDMAN SACHS and are completely incapable of making their own decisions! Because Bernie said so.

Because there is a 90+% approval rating for Obama in the black community and Clinton is similar or slightly to the left of him. Whereas Bernie Sanders attacks can seem like a rebuke of him even if Obama isn’t directly addressed.

Shall we perhaps give black voters a tad more credit instead of saying they are voting against their interests? Perhaps older black people in the south, a group that has arguably faced the greatest battles in this country, do not buy the idealism of Sanders. I like Sanders but for supporters of Obama, Clinton is a

black voters are obviously morons who need white gawker writers to set them straight. This article is nonsense - in 1996, black leaders were asking for harsher sentences for kids in their communities - particularly regarding the sale of crack
