I remember the first time I saw your byline, as your name immediately reminded me of a ‘Buffy’ reference. I also appreciated the fact that you were open about being the ‘neighborhood gossip’. I know there was some pushback against your snark, but I always enjoyed it. I will always read your articles.  Good luck on your

Dastmalchian really walked away with that scene (in TDKR). When I first saw him in it, I remember thinking he really made you take notice him (especially considering he was playing a non-lead role).

I’m not sure if y’all saw the Laura Dern HBO movie “The Tale”, but there’s a brilliant scene that addresses how young a teenager really looks (whose in a relationship with someone whose much older).

Even if she wins its not going to help small content creators afford to sue DISNEY.”

Agreed. I love that - now that her metaphorical shackles are gone - she’s letting people haaaaave it. She’s ununderstandably brimming with pent-up resentment.

It’s too bad this sequel isn’t able to elevate the premise. I really enjoyed the first movie because (as you mentioned) it was smarter than expected.

Even though Moore’s role in “Queen & Slim” was relatively small, she was quite memorable in it.

Not to jump into this tête-à-tête, but I have to agree that the other commenter wasn’t talking about the sex tape.

The company Hilton keeps doesn’t surprise me. Grifters gotta stick together, of course.

While I’m sure Hilton went through a harrowing ordeal with that Utah(?) based bootcamp and having that sex tape released - I cannot abide her obvious attempt at rehabilitating her public image.

Counterpoint: Miranda was an AMAZING redhead. And her haircut & color was the only good thing about “SatC 2".

Notice that your use of Robert Pattinson to compare their situations actually makes my point.

You need to read what I wrote more carefully. I wasn’t giving praise for phantom roles. I said she needs to do movies with unconventional directors as a way to push herself out of these overtly commercial and sexualized roles.

I definitely think she hasn’t been challenged acting wise. Because as you said, she’s being cast as a commodity (ie, to bring in males to ogle her) rather than to see what she could bring to the table acting wise.

You mean “Atomic Blonde”, right?

I’m glad you brought this up, because I thought this too (but feared I was being shallow).

Right?! I could not *believe* how people reacted to Skylar White. God forbid she expresses concerns her husband is becoming a sociopathic drug lord. Who is also making her an accessory after the fact and putting her and their son in harm’s way.

Thank you!

I said in another thread here that (IMO) comedy is much harder to do well than drama. I’ve never watched “New Girl”, but have heard she was quite good.

Unfortunately, this type of comment is a perfect example of the backhanded compliments she is regularly thrown. I’m sure you didn’t mean to be snarky, but it does minimize her talents as an actor.
