I’d hazard Conde Nast hasn’t axed Wintour (yet) because she’s the closest thing they have to a cultural institution. At this point, she’s as famous as the people she invites to the Met Gala.

I just wanted to congratulate you on marshaling the fortitude to start over. Many blessings to you. :-)

Your mention of Megan Thee Stallion's inexcusable treatment post-shooting reminds me of how Givens was treated when she went public regarding her abuse.

It seems well out of Akeem’s character to have been playing the field as he was so clearly taken with Lisa. But a DNA test would resolve things within the first 5 minutes of the movie. So what gives?...

100% agree. More people need to be aware of “...Lights”.

I find it curious that the director of this also helmed the movie version of “Love! Valour! Compassion!”

Why (re: Sheldon as Uncle Tom) do you feel that way?

She was quite good in a movie she recently did called “American Woman”. I was surprised that her performance in it garnered so little hype. The lack of critical attention was a real shame.

Right? That movie was one of the few chances an actor *should* dial the performance to 11 (see also: Showgirls) and Miller was the only one to deliver. Her scenes in the Paris sequence was the movie’s (only) high-point.

Not to mention Redmayne’s performance in TDG was less acting and more a series of tics & mannerisms. It drove me NUTS how often he employed painfully tentative smiles to communicate emotional distress.

Watching this has made me remember that while I long to physically be in my early 20s, I do not miss the drama of it and/or adolescence AT ALL.

This “controversey” reminds me of the whole Riley Weston kerfuffle from 1999/2000. Fir those not on the know, Weston was an 18 year old writer on “Felicity” who was being hailed as a wunderkind in the press. Weston even got her own development deal.

Well, in fairness, Kim Cattrall is doing press rounds for her new television show (“Filthy Rich”). This is her first(?) ongoing show since SatC ended, so it makes sense that it - and the accompanying feud - is brought up as a topic.

I’m slow on the uptake and am missing the joke (honestly). Can you explain, por favor?...

Your joke actually raises a suspicion I’ve had.

But *this* is a daily reminder that she filed a questionable will and stole the inheritance of her husband’s daughters to fund said preserve. The police released a statement saying that the will used to award all the money to Carole is forged.

I think the many, *many* criticisms of both Girls and Lena Dunham are valid - but that Marnie episode you mentioned (“The Panic in Central Park”) is an incredible piece of television. It was like a mini-movie.

Normally, I agree with everything you wrote - but these b!txhes are old enough to know better. Currently, Naomi is 27 and Derrick is 37(!).

Lord! I have ALOT of feelings (and words) regarding this episode. LoL!

The following may be a dumb question to ask, but is this the type case that the HRC, GLAAD or the ACLU could take up? Especially considering he’s disenfranchised via so many different ways?
