I’d completely forgotten about Top Gear at this point save for the “Chris Harris Drives” segments. The rest of the show’s segments I can take a pass on.

I built one with what I want. adding only a tow package, the v6, and fog lights and I get 35K....

This, a million times, this.

It’s not so much that ‘Merican trucks are too big, they’re just too damn tall!

S10, old Ranger, B Series, Old Frontier and old Taco.

This is why my wife’s work switched to SUVs from trucks. If you don’t give a shit about most of the GIANT truck features, just go grab a box on wheels and sort the rest out with the money you saved.

Just give it a short bed option.

“regular cab under $20k and extended cab just over that...”

Not once you add destination/taxes. Dealers won’t haggle on them, not unless you are buying a fleet. You also are getting a stripper truck. Start ticking the boxes to get 4x4 or an extended cab and it will add up real fast even if you want to keep the minimum amenities.

That’s a good point

We were the idiots in the back half of the campgrounds, where there were no Porta Potties. You likely saw the gray Ranger going on pottie runs.

Here is a graph from the fuel log I have. Some interesting trends. I wonder how it would align to US gas prices.

Re Mercedes:

How’s life in 2004?

You made me gasp in disbelief and then chortle audibly, thanks for that!

Yeah in TRD trim the giant ass whale shark mouth looks almost palatable. They do have nice looking interiors though.

VW more reliable than Kia?

They specialize in low volume vehicles while Toyota is the master of high volume efficiency.

Good info, thank you!

Look at the rest of the car, million miles or not it doesn’t look taken care of.
