Who said that age group is buying them? Leasing is way more popular with that age group and/or Parents are going to buy it for them. Because to parents Civic = slow, reliable, and safe. (even though those 1.5T can get turned up)

Limited number (5000) of an established nameplate that is built in Japan. The built in Japan has more of an impact than people would think. So there will be mark-ups.

Apparently the Touring Hybrid CRVs are anywhere from $35k to $38k. The RAV4 AWD Limited Hybrid is $36-$40k.
