Great motors that were somewhat plagued by the Spider Fuel injection problem. I had the earlier 4.3L in my 1994 Bravada and lets just say it was closer to having a carburetor than fuel injection at 220K. But the Spider really isnt that hard to change and im sure they have fixed that with DI

Have fun with that aluminum. There is a reason ford is having trouble which is partly due to grounding issues. Also from the multiple mechanics i know good luck if it gets hit. Most repair shops dont have the right skill/equipment to weld aluminum. so have fun taking it to a dealer.
