As both a big supporter of the site and an artist who has made literally dozens of dollars through online music sales, I hope they can maintain the core vision, ie, giving artists control in an era where there’s so little need for middle-men in the industry.

Yup. And it lets us download albums in lossless formats. *Very* few other digital music outlets offer losslessness.

Bandcamp is the only reliable place that I can find Jim O’Rourke albums. 

That really stinks.

Bandcamp isn’t just for ‘up and coming’ musicians - many veteran but niche musical acts also sell through Bandcamp.
