Hardspace: Shipbreaker, another game focused on destroying rather than building which also came out in 2022, kind of slipped through the cracks for me. Something about the measured precision of efficient destruction as a counterweight to all the open world building we’ve been fed really appealed to me.

Discworld (the book series) is tolerable, reminiscent of Douglas Adams’ writing but cornier and trying way too hard to be funny. The Discworld videogame was a similar experience but way uglier than a book and with more annoying adventure game puzzles.

I’ve found it amusing how many people talk about Karlach and Gale and Wyll. In the opening moments of the game I tried to free Gale from the portal and lost him. Never saw him again. The grove was decimated and I never met Wyll. I killed Karlach in the woods when she confronted me, not knowing she was a potential team…
