Welcome back, Oliver! I’m glad you’re back. It’s hard finding good comics writing on the internet that isn’t a listicle haven (not that I’m not occasionally guilty of clicking on them).
A Schwartzwelder classic!
Yeah, that was my wall, too. I got help with Lady Maria (honestly, I was probably carried to success), but I just couldn’t deal with Orphan. I didn’t want its weird, goopy trick-weapon enough to endure the constant screaming.
On that subject, why the hell did CNN make it one of their rules that they had to speak extempoeraneously? I get that they want to keep things quick and off-the-cuff, but, boy, that is a big advantage for Trump, who needs only whatever made-up nonsense is rattling around in his head.
I do hope you are right. I’ve heard the “No way, Trump can’t win!” line before, but I suppose there is still time.
Elden Ring is the only FromSoft game (the base game) that I can actually say that I have completed (not close to 100%, mind you), with a fairly substantial slice of cheese at that. I wouldn’t call the Purple Space Rocks OP, at least not in my haphazard build, but they do a fair amount of work, all the while giving the…
I really, really wanted Biden to show up for this debate. I did tune out right before the final half-hour, so there’s a possibility I missed the point in the debate where he curved his arm in front of him and launched a fireball at Trump while shouting “Hadoken!”, but, from the reporting, I think he just carried on…
I mean, I don’t disguise my contempt for certain game/types of games, stuff I consider video game junk food, designed to keep you hooked.
I lived with some people that used to play a lot of Borderlands (the original, I believe) and it just drove me crazy. It was just a lot of shooty nonsense tied to Diablo-esque incremental loot system, all dolled up with a kind of “Hot Topic edgelord” look. I could not fathon why anyone would want to spend their…
At long last, I finished my playthrough of Prey (on easy, like a filthy casual). On the whole, it was a satisfying trip with a really strong character focus. For a game that has a good deal in common with the Bioshock series (and the System Shock series, I guess, but I’ve never played those), it does a far better job…
I think if David hadn’t returned to his home planet—he didn’t even show up for LCK!—he might’ve ended up being the season’s villain.
I do tend to agree, though I grew to appreciate it more as I watched it with friends a generation younger than me; sometimes, things are funnier when watched with the right group of people.
Ugh...but I don’t wanna fight Mohg! That’s probably the one thing keeping me from jumping into this right away. My endgame character probably can handle Mohg, but the damn blood swamp* his temple is in is a pain in the ass to travel through.
I somehow missed the review, so I’m glad you linked it here, but one line you cite is bothering me:
I wasn’t even aware Robert Eggers was doing a version of Nosferatu! I can’t wait to see what obsessive historical detail he brings to it!
Yep. That’s about the size of it. I decided to cut my losses, since I can no longer divine what position you are putting forth, outside a general “Fight me, bro!” vibe.
Thank you for disabusing me of the my previous misconception that you might be a reasonable person.
Is it just me or has Pluto TV gotten super load to load channels? I don’t watch it much, but I tuned in recently and I noticed they have a new UI design...and that it is just super slow. I watch it through my PS4, so it might just be an issue with that specific platform.
